Muslim Caucus Hosts Its First Community Iftaar

The Muslim Caucus proudly hosted its first community Iftaar at Masjid Jamia, bringing together members of the community, elected officials, and candidates for an evening of reflection, unity, and civic engagement during the holy month of Ramadan.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our generous sponsors and supporters who helped make this event possible: Congressman Steven Horsford, Zach Conine for Attorney General, Nicole Cannizzaro for Attorney General, Ford for Governor, Daniele Monroe Moreno for North Las Vegas Mayor, Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Commissioner William McCurdy II, Mindy Lloyd for County Commission District F, Assemblywoman Erica Mosca (AD 14), Dr. James Lally for Congress, and the Nevada Democratic Party.

The event welcomed over 300 attendees, creating an important opportunity for members of the Muslim community to connect directly with elected officials and candidates, engage in meaningful conversations, and strengthen relationships between community leaders and public servants.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Anna Albertson for administering the oath of office and swearing in the new officers of the Muslim Caucus.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Chef Kesha for preparing the wonderful meal that brought everyone together to break the fast.

This memorable evening reflected the Muslim Caucus’s commitment to building community, encouraging civic participation, and fostering dialogue between leaders and the diverse communities they serve.
