Who can register to vote?
- Any Nevadan who will be 18 by November 3, and is a U.S. citizen.
- You are a Nevadan if you’ve lived in your county for 30 days and in your precinct at your specific residence for 10 days.
- If you’ve moved to Nevada more recently you can still vote a Federal Ballot. Contact your county’s election department.
- All previously incarcerated individuals have the right to vote in Nevada.
Who can register to vote?
- I have a valid Nevada DMV-issued ID* or Tribal ID
- Register online atiwillvote.com.
- Make sure to register by October 15 to receive your automatic mail ballot.
- The last day to register online is October 29, at 11:59 pm. But you can still register in-person during Early Vote (until October 30) and Election Day.
- Register same-day during early voting and on Election Day.
*A license that expired after March 11 is valid through November 12, by order of the DMV
- I do not have a Nevada DMV-issued ID:
- Your registration deadline for the 2020 General Election has passed, it was October 6th. Please go to iwillvote.com and register for future elections.
- You may go in-person to a polling location and request a provisional ballot, which they must provide to you, to make your choice known. Find your polling location at iwillvote.com
- I am an in-state student, how do I register to vote?
- Follow the instructions above and make sure to use the correct mailing address. The best mailing addresses by school are:
- For UNR Students: If you are living on campus at UNR, use this mailing address, which is separate from your residential address:

- I am a Nevada college student who is studying remotely (out of state or in another county) due to COVID. Can I still vote in Nevada?
- Yes, you merely need to update your mailing address.
- If you are an out-of-state freshman and have not previously resided in Nevada, you don’t qualify to vote in Nevada.
Will I receive a ballot automatically by mail this year?
- Yes, most voters will receive a ballot automatically this year! To ensure that you will receive a ballot, check online to confirm you are an ‘active voter.’ If you are not an ‘active voter,’ make sure to re-register to vote before October 15 at iwillvote.com.
